2011 Trip Schedule

Whitewater paddling is a risky outdoor sport. BRV is not responsible for any individual’s decision to participate in a trip, or for his or her decision to run any river or section of a river.

Please Note:

BRV members receive a club roster that contains updates on the 2011 trip schedule as well as contact information for the entire club.
The schedule below remains a work in progress. Trips will be added or cancelled during the season, so stay tuned to this page, The Voyageur newsletter, and “BRV This Week” emails for updates.
Trips are subject to change in both date and location due to river levels, weather and other safety considerations, and to the preferences of trip leaders.
You must communicate directly with the trip leader before the trip. He or she will inform you about logistics, etc. Trip leaders are volunteers and retain the right to deny participation to non club members or those whose skills, experience or gear they suspect may be insufficient to safely participate.

Notes:

Thanks to Charlie Duffy for opening up to BRV members the kayak classes and clinics he plans to lead this year. Charlie’s done a lot for CCA, MCC, and other clubs in recent years, offering ACA instruction, leading trips, etc.
Ed Evangelidi is planning some extended paddling trips for 2011, include a month-long trip in March to South Texas, and/or Arkansas and Tennessee; a mid-summer New River sojourn, from source to mouth; and/or a western trip, to bag some fine runs in Western Wyoming and Montana. Contact Ed if you’re interested hooking up for one of these adventures.
For mid-week pick up trips, contact Steve Ettinger, leader of the “Thursday Paddlers.” Steve and the gang always seem to take full advantage of midweek rainfall.
